Description of Behavioral Problem
Non-use of insecticide impregnated bednets increases risk of malaria for pregnant women and children under 5.
Program Description
Program objectives are to reduce the morbidity and mortality caused by malaria among pregnant women and children under five; increase awareness among the general population that using ITNs can prevent malaria and promote and distribute the Supanet and Mama Supanet ITNs. IPC workers use visual aids such as flip charts to express messages about the benefits of ITNs. Posters and brochures are used to reinforce health messages, and training manuals for IPC workers help to ensure program quality.
